Hi! I’m Sebastian.

I’m an illustrator/ Graphic designer living in Aurora, Co. I attended the Art Institute of Colorado from 2009 - 2012 and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Effects & Motion Graphics. Upon graduation I found my self enthralled with the art of long exposure photography and visual storytelling. I currently do photography as a hobby while graphic design has become my full time job.

I have always been a natural artist and have been illustrating ever since I can remember. It all started with crayons and colored pencils and a love of Dinosaurs and Godzilla. High school is where I really started to come into my own personal style of art, consisting of dark and whimsical, cheeky and satirical subject matter, and having been heavily influenced by Anime and the art stylings of Todd McFarlane, creator of Spawn.

Sketching with ball point pen has always been my preferred way of getting the creative bug out. I call it “Dry Sketching”. I go in with a very loose idea of what I want to sketch and just start going for it. I use this practice for two reasons. First off, I have to commit to every line that I make. There is no “undo” with pen and paper. It forces me to commit to what I have done and make it work. Secondly, going in “Dry” with no brain storming, has really helped me not overthink the idea/ subject. Decision paralysis has been a real set back ever since I started using an iPad. I’ll do a sketch with pen, and if I like the concept then I’ll take it into the iPad for refinement. This has been my most productive form of creativity as of late.

I primarily work full time doing commercial graphic design work, while participating in art shows and vendor events for fun, selling my personal works. I primarily design in Illustrator and Photoshop with touches of 3D and animation with After Effects. I am pursuing animation more with my art and have begun integrating A.R. (augmented reality) into my works. So far this has been a lot of fun and I will continue to explore the possibilities of A.R. more so in the days to come.
